Part-Time Manager, Technology Services (Airport Applications)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Technology Services (Airport Applications) in the Information Technology (IT) Department. Reporting to the Director, Technology Services (Digital & Airport Applications), the successful candidate will lead a cross functional team to meet IT customer requirements through the effective planning and managing of the systems that support airport business functions. The portfolio of systems include Common Use, Baggage, Flight Management, CCTV, Access Control and Parking systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing the work of a team of Business and Technical Analysts by ensuring that both day-to-day and project work is being delivered appropriately
Providing direction to a team of Business and Technical Analysts which includes monitoring work efforts and performance, hiring, coaching, motivating and supporting developmental activities, conducting formal evaluations and applying appropriate discipline
Participating in, and delivering on, all components of the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) that includes: Planning, Analysis, Requirements, Design, Development, Integration & Testing, Deployment and Maintenance
Participating in departmental budget planning and management
Managing annual capital and operating budgets efficiently and responsibly
Negotiating and managing vendor contracts
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with our internal and external customers
Key qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management/business information systems or related field plus 7+ years’ recent, related experience in managing complex business systems projects – requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and change management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
2 to 5+ years’ management/supervisory experience Experience in the airport/airline industry while not required is considered an asset
PMP designation or equivalent considered an asset
Experience in managing/coordinating technical tasks delivered by internal and external resources
Demonstrated ability to teach/mentor and educate staff in complex airport business software solutions as well as other IT systems capabilities and best practices
After hours work may be required in certain situations
Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, users, staff and team members, both written and verbal.
Possess excellent critical thinking skills with the capability to envision creative solutions to complex and challenging business process/system issues
Solid relationship building skills with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
