Are you a self-starter with a strong commitment to Early Childhood Development (ECD) and have the personality to build grassroots networks, coalitions, collaborations and partnerships amongst Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities?

United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) is seeking a professional Community Developer, responsible for implementing the Success by 6®, and Make Children First program deliverables in the geographic area of Quesnel and surrounding area supported by the Regional Early Years Coordinator.

United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) Early Years initiative is part of a provincial movement which advocates for the healthy development of children and families. In Northern BC, the United Way has partnered with Credit Unions of British Columbia and the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) to enhance the lives of children and families in this region.
The Early Years Table Coordinator supports community collaboration which brings together stakeholders from businesses, health, education, labour, government, faith and cultural groups, along with ECD service providers in order to effect positive change of young children (0-6 years) and their families.

Required Qualifications and Experience: Five years’ experience in early years’ programs and services or equivalent related training. Experience in community development, project management and group facilitation with effective written and verbal communications and public speaking skills. Experience in collective strategic planning is an asset. Experience working within Indigenous Communities and with cultural protocols. Knowledgeable and efficiency with computers and social media is preferred. Previous fundraising, grant proposal writing, marketing and media experience would be an asset. Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

This Term position is funded by annually renew of funding for that given year. Any renewal is dependant upon receiving funding each year and at the discretion of UWNBC and lead partners.
The Early Years Table Coordinator is a deliverable based contract that is paid by monthly retainer. Contract ending March 31st, 2018.
